Milonga (Tango Dance Party) at Grapes
Tango instructor Graham Stanford, with students from his Puerta al Tango dance school in Albuquerque, will also host a milonga at Grapes!
At 4pm, a one-hour free tango class will precede the milonga, which is from 5-7pm. The Albuquerque students are experienced at dancing in milongas, and locals are invited to come and watch, or join in the dance. No partner is needed!
Attendance is by donation, or a la gorra (a donation hat).
Two beginner social tango classes will be offered earlier in the day, also at Grapes!
Graham teaches students how to dance tango socially through body awareness and human connection, at their own pace, to create a style that is uniquely theirs. Social Argentine tango developed in the late 1800s in Buenos Aires. Unlike performance tango, social tango prioritizes connection over prowess of steps.
