Sierra County Arts Council strongly supports the performance and promotion of music throughout Sierra County. Each year the Arts Council presents a variety of styles — from classical to blues, from folk to rock. Both local and traveling musicians are featured on a variety of stages. In addition, the Arts Council presents two series of music.

Music Mix:

The Music Mix series presents classical music performed by regional and touring musicians. Annual highlights have included concerts by Southwest Chamber Winds of Las Cruces, an ensemble well-known for excellent chamber music.

Starlight Concerts:

This summertime series of monthly music in the mountain community of Kingston brings local and traveling musicians to the colorful outdoor pavilion at the Black Range Lodge.

The Lodge also presents an annual acoustic music festival called “Pickamania” in September.
